My passion for photography and the creative process started with a homemade pinhole camera and watching Jon Gnagy’s “Learn to Draw” TV program on Saturday mornings as a young child. While photography and art have never been the focus of my education or career, the passion I have and joy I receive from them has never left. Now that I’m “officially” retired, I am thoroughly enjoying my pursuit of these passions. I continually find inspiration from some very talented people-including Scott Kelby, Corey Barker, Jai Johnson, Serge Ramelli, Aaron Nace (Phlearn), Seabastion Michaels, Andre Tallent, and Caroline Julia Moore. I am also constantly inspired by fellow members of the Photoshop Artistry, AWAKE, KAIZEN, and Shift Art classes and groups. These inspirations feed my ruminating mind which never rests and is always imagining the “next thing.”
This website includes my photography, as well as Photo Art composites and creations. These Photo Art composites and creations are created primarily from my photos which are combined with other textures, elements, backgrounds, and digital painting techniques to make them more interesting and/or to tell a story. As you can see, animals are of special interest to me.
As is always the case, “Art is in the eye of the beholder.” I hope you’ll find something here that you can enjoy. As for me, I’ve enjoyed creating them all.
